TORONTO — On Thursday, the Ottawa Senators made an announcement stating that the experienced goal scorer, Vladimir Tarasenko, has reached an agreement with the team. The deal is for one year and worth $5 million.
Before this year’s trade deadline, the veteran winger, who had been with the St. Louis Blues for a long time, was traded to the New York Rangers.
This past season
Throughout the current season, the four-time All-Star showcased his skills on both teams, tallying a combined total of 18 goals and 32 assists, accumulating 50 points in 67 games. During the playoffs, he further contributed with three goals and an assist in seven games.

Having played a crucial role in the St. Louis Blues’ victory in the Stanley Cup of 2019, Tarasenko’s career statistics reflect his impact. Over the course of 675 career games for both St. Louis and the Rangers, he has achieved an impressive 270 goals and 304 assists, resulting in a total of 574 points. Notably, he has reached the 30-goal mark in six out of his 11 seasons.
Tarasenko, a 31-year-old Russian player, was initially chosen as the 16th overall pick by the Blues in the 2010 NHL Draft.
